Iran ready to dispatch peace-keeping force abroad: Army commander

Tehran, April 20, IRNA -- Army Commander Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan said that Iran is ready to dispatch peace-keeping force abroad.

On the sidelines of ' Army Day ' commemoration ceremony, the General said that Iran's Army is fully ready to dispatch its forces on peace-keeping missions to all different areas of the world.

In the ceremony, in the presence of foreign countries military attachés in Tehran, which was held in the army headquarters here, the commander said Iran's Army has formed its peace-keeping battalion and its forces have already been trained to attend everywhere.

Peace-keeping forces are usually dispatched to other areas upon authorization by the United Nations to establish ceasefire and control implementation of ceasefire and prevent warring sides from going into war.

Concerning Army Day, the general said that holding such an occasion would be an appropriate opportunity to make countries close to each other and exchange experiences with each other.
