TEHRAN (ISNA)-Iran said on Tuesday that Bushehr nuclear plant is carrying out its routine activities.

"Our technical experts are closely observing everything. The plant's safety has met the highest standards and the Russian side has pledged to implement the agreement in set time," Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast told reporters in his regular briefing session.

He expressed hope the electricity to be generated by the nuclear site would join national grid in the set time.

As to remarks of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Chief Yukiya Amano on Iran's nuclear drive, Mehmanparast said, "peaceful activities of the Islamic Republic of Iran are carried out under the framework of the country's rights and the recent report released by the organization has stressed non-diversion in Iran's work."

"If some dual-track comments are made, some ambiguities are raised or the old issue of alleged studies is mentioned while for which no real document is presented yet, it shows that the IAEA is under heavy political pressure to be derailed from its path and then political demands of certain countries come true."

He rejected reports on Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's trip to Saudi Arabia.
