Navy builds new destroyers

Tehran, March 7, IRNA -- Navy Commander of Navy Brigadier-General Habibollah Sayyari said on Monday that Iranian Navy has built modern destroyers.

Talking to IRNA, he said that following the delivery of ‘Jamaran Destroyer’ to the Navy, the defense industries put constructing such destroyers on its agenda.

He further pointed out that the Navy has planned to upgrade its destroyers in a bid to promote its defense capability.

“The Navy is always ready to defend the country against threats and has never forgot the issue,” he said, noting that the forces under his command are well-prepared to safeguard the country’s territorial waters.
