TEHRAN (ISNA) - Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi met with the European Union Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton.
The meeting came following Ashton's request on the sidelines of the UN Human Rights Council session on Monday.
Salehi pointed to Iran's nuclear work which is carried out in a legal and transparent way and said, "the Islamic Republic of Iran compiles with its commitments."
He said the West tries to find intentions, but intentions cannot be verified.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran has always sought cooperation and interaction instead of confrontation and is ready to work under the framework of accepted international rules, but it needs receiving cooperation and good will signals from the other side."
Ashton on her part said, "we are seeking interaction and cooperation and we need to pave the way for it."
She also called for actions to return things to its normal conditions.
