Fattah: Bushehr NPP to generate electricity as of next year

Baghdad, May 29, IRNA – Minister of Energy Parviz Fattah said here Thursday that Iran’s Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant will generate electricity as of next Iranian year of 1389 (March 21, 2010-March 20, 2011).

Fattah said energy consumption has a growth of six percent a year in Iran.

He added that relying on domestic potential, Iran has been able to turn into a major power producer and exporter.

Fattah is here to attend a trilateral meeting with his Iraqi and Turkish counterparts on energy, that opened here on Thursday.
