Bushehr nuclear plant to start operation by 2010: commissioner

Head of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission said that Bushehr nuclear power plant has made a good progress, hoping that it will become operational by March 2010.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of Majlis open session on Tuesday, Alaeddin Boroujerdi added that it seems that doubts about the plant going into operation have been removed.

Russians are trying to accelerate the process and hundreds of Iranian engineers who have been trained in Russia are replacing Russian experts, he noted.

Referring to reports submitted to the commission by officials in charge of Bushehr plant, he said that the plant will be launched by end of next year.

The main problem with the plant's fuel supply has been solved, he said.

Members of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission recently visited Bushehr power plant.
