Navy commander: Iran's Navy most powerful in region

The Islamic Republic of Iran Navy is the most powerful in the region, Commander of the Army's Naval Forces, Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said on Tuesday.
Speaking in the first gathering on "navy martyrs" in Bushehr region, he said Iran with 3000 kilometers of water borders in north and south is regarded as the most powerful navy in the region which has successfully safeguarded the country's territorial integrity.
Under wise leadership of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and the will of Iranian committed youths, the Iranian naval forces have maintained their powerful presence in the Persian Gulf, Hormuz Strait and Sea of Oman, he said.
The naval forces with collaboration with IRGC navy have formed a very powerful power in the region, he underlined.
Praising the combat readiness of the Navy at the present time, he said the Navy has bright prospects.
He also lauded the skillful and committed personnel of the navy, saying that the navy mostly use equipment manufactured by Iranian experts.
He stressed that the enemy should understand that the Iranian armed forces are in full readiness to defend the country's territory and sovereignty.
They are also capable of ensuring regional security, he noted.
