The Islamic Republic of Iran Navy will become the most powerful force in the region in the near future, Commander of the Army's Naval Forces, Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari told IRNA Sunday evening.
Praising the combat readiness of the Navy at the present time, he said the Navy has bright prospects.
He also lauded the skillful and committed Navy personnel, saying that the Navy mostly makes use of equipment manufactured by Iranian experts.
He stressed that the enemy should understand that the Iranian armed forces are in full readiness to defend the Iranian territory and sovereignty.
They are also capable to ensure regional security, he noted.
Rear Admiral Sayyari further announced that new Army bases will soon be established throughout the Sea of Oman to monitor all foreign military movements in the Persian Gulf, the Omani Sea, Hormuz Strait, and north of Indian Ocean.
All regional countries are fully aware that presence of the Islamic Republic is the root cause of establishment of tranquility and security while presence of foreign forces in the region is a major element for creating challenges, the Navy commander added.
