Rafsanjani-Friday Prayers-Nuclear
Provisional Friday Prayers leader of Tehran stressing that Iran's nuclear program has never breached any international law, said here Friday in his second sermon permits for inspecting Iranian nuclear centers would be issued merely within boundaries of the IAEA laws.
Chairman of Iran's Expediency Council Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani addressing thousands of Tehrani worshipers at central campus of Tehran University, added in his second sermon, "Whatever we have declared regarding the nuclear activities of Iran have been absolute facts and the Agency, too, has approved of the fact that there has been no deviation of peaceful purposes in our program." Referring to the claims made by the US officials tha Iranians refrain from declaring the entire truth, he said, "They present no documents for claiming so, not even to the Agency, on pretext that the espionage source for their information might be thus revealed. Therefore, what they say is merely a claim that can be exclaimed by anyone."
This week's Friday preacher of Tehran referring to IAEA chief's recent report, said, "Unfortunately ElBaradei's reports, too, are, as always resembling a double edged sword, as he has in his recent report stated that what Iran has declared so far has been a reflection of the truth and we confirm there is no sign of breaching the laws in it, but regarding what Iran has not declared yet, they do not reply to our questions and we (the Agency) cannot judge either way." He said, "ElBaradei has for instance said that Iran does no permit the Agency's inspection in its Arak heavy water facilities." In response to the Agency's demand in that respect, Hashemi Rafsanjani openly announced from the Friday Prayers altar, "Inspecting the Arak nuclear facilities is basically not within the barriers of the IAEA laws so that there would be any need for our issuance of a permit for inspections there. It is in other words, none of the Agency's business."
He reiterated, "It goes without saying that they are after bullying and that is while we expect the Agency to observe neutrality in issuance of its judgments."
The chairman of country's Leadership Experts Assembly added, "Save for obeying their illegal demands, Iran would do anything within its capabilities to safeguard the regional and international security." The former Iranian president said, "We are by no means favoring global insecurity, since we are Muslims, and the Muslims are typically the supporters of peace, moderate approach, and sound logic. If our argument would be based on strong logic, it would definitely be accepted by sound minds."
This week's Friday preacher of Tehran complained, "We should actually be the complaining side due to the approach adopted by the UN Security Council and the IAEA against Iran nowadays."
He added, "We would not permit trampling upon the absolute rights of a brisk, revolutionary, Muslim nation so easily."
