Iran's nuclear program peaceful, says ElBaradei in latest report

Eleven points in ten paragraphs of IAEA Chief Muhamed Elbaradei's Wednesday report on Iran, presented to 35-member IAEA Board of Governors, include positive and valuable hints indicating peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear program.

According to IRNA Political Desk, the key points in ElBaradei report are as follows:

Point One:

In paragraph 2 of he report it is said, "...All nuclear material at (Natanz) FPE, as well as all installed cascades, remain under Agency containment and surveillance."

Point Two:

In Paragraph 3 it states, "...All nuclear material at (Natanz) PFEP, as well as the cascade area, remains under Agency containment and surveillance."

Point Three:

In paragraph 4 we read, "To date, the results of the environment samples taken at FEP and PFEP, and the operating records for FEP, indicate that the plants have been operating as declared (i.e. less than 5.0% U-235 enrichment).

Point Four:

In paragraph 4 it is meanwhile stated, "Since March 2007, twenty unannounced inspections have been conducted st (Natanz) FEP).

Point Five:

In paragraph 5 we read, "On October 26, 2008, Iran provided updated Design Information Questionnaires (DIQs) for (Natanz) FEP and PFEP..."

Point Six:

In paragraph 6 it says, "The Agency has continued to monitor the use and construction of hot cells at the Tehran Research Reactor (TRR) and the Molybdenum, Iodine and Xenon Radioisotope Production (MIX) Facility through inspections and design information verification (DIV).

Point Seven:

Also, in the same paragraph we read, "There have been no indications of ongoing reprocessing related activities at those facilities."

Point Eight:

In paragraph 7 it is said, "On 13 August, 2008, the Agency conducted at the Fuel Manufacturing Plant (PMF), the results of which are consistent with the declaration made by Iran..."

Point Nine:

In paragraph 7 it is also stated, "On October 18, 2008, the Agency conducted an inspection; no major changes in the construction status of FMP have been noted since the Agency's visit to FMP in May, 2008."

Point Ten:

In paragraph 8 we read, "Using satellite imagery, the Agency has continued to monitor the status of the Heavy Water Production Plant..."

Point Eleven:

In paragraph 9 it is said, "...the Agency's information on the status of the construction of the (Arak) reactor is also limited to that available through satellite imagery. From a review of such imagery, the Agency can confirm the construction of that reactor is continuing."

In paragraph 10 the report indicates, "...the total amount of uranium in the form of UF, production at UCF since March, 2004, has been 248 tons, all of which remains under Agency's containment and surveillance..."
