The United States forces in Iraq on Wednesday were cautioned against violation of Iranian airspace.
"Iran will respond to any violation to its airspace, said the Command Headquarters of the Armed Forces in a statement directed at the US army commanders in Iraq.
The statement was released following cases of US helicopter flights near Iran's border areas.
"Recently it has been seen that American army helicopters were flying in short distance from Iranian border areas and it is likely to violate Iranian airspace," said the statement.
"Iran's armed forces will respond to any violation," it stressed calling on the US army commanders in Iraq to "change the route of the helicopter flights" so that they would fly in a "safe distance from Iranian borders to avoid any trouble."
