Tehran, Oct 14, IRNA
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Tuesday that the country is on the verge of significant domestic and global developments which requires full attention.
The president made the remarks in a joint meeting of cabinet ministers and Friday prayer leaders here on Tuesday.
"Recognizing these developments as well as our duties, which should be properly carried out, would help us achieve the goals, he said.
There is no doubt that the world is now going through a new situation as the yardsticks of the past, which were Marxism and liberalism, are at the end of the road, he said.
The world has witnessed the collapse of Marxism and now they are witnessing the annihilation of liberalism, he underlined.
There is a broad tendency in the world towards religions, communication with God and humanity, he said.
The mission of the Iranian nation differs with its mission 30 years ago, he said adding, "Our mission is now global and we believe that only the scientists and Ulema in Islamic Iran can play a pivotal role in guiding humanity in the right path. Therefore we should be well-prepared and accountable in dealing with the needs of the world." Referring to the current situation in the United States, he said, "It does not make any difference for Iran who the next president of the United States is. The fact is that whoever takes office has to limit US involvement to domestic affairs and secondly, it is forced to mend fences with Iran."
There is no doubt that these two issues will be materialized, underlined the president.
Referring to Iran's peaceful nuclear activities, he said that by the grace to Almighty God, the dignity and bullying aspect of big powers were humiliated and the dignity and strength of Iranian nation was vindicated instead.
"Our mission is to replace the thoughts of global arrogance with divine thought," he underlined.
"We are now witnessing a U-turn in the country and the era of political factions have come to end and no longer leaves any impact on the Islamic Revolution," he underlined.
There is no doubt that there would be many obstacles to this end but all will be removed, underlined President Ahmadinejad.
The government has mobilized itself to serve the nation and help reconstruct the country at the earliest, he said.
President Ahmadinejad also urged Friday prayer leaders to help the government implement the economic plan in a sound atmosphere.
