IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Tehran, Aug 24, IRNA
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Sunday that the bullying powers have attempted to stop progress and prosperity of the Iranian nation.

Addressing a group of clerics and theological students of Markazi province, he said resistance of the Iranian nation to the global arrogance in the field of nuclear energy highlighted prestige of the Iranian people.

Denouncing the US-led globalization drive, the president called for materialization of justice throughout the globe.

He emphasized the need for construction of the Islamic Iran through unity and solidarity of the people.

He offered a report to the audience on the performance of his government over the past three years since taking office.

President Ahmadinejad, along with members of his cabinet, arrived in Arak, Markazi province, on Saturday on the first day of the Government Week (August 23-29).

Government Week marks the martyrdom anniversary of the late president Mohammad-Ali Rajaei and his prime minister, Mohammad-Javad Bahonar, who were both martyred in a bomb blast in the presidential office by the terrorist Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO) on August 30, 1981.

He made the initiative to visit different provinces since he took office in 2005 in order to bring closer the government to ordinary people.
