Iran: US unlikely to risk another peril

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Tehran, April 27, IRNA
Foreign Ministry Mohammad Ali Hosseini said on Sunday that it is unlikely the US dare to enter into another war.

Hosseini made the remarks in response to latest US war rhetoric made by US Defense Secretary Robert Gates.

Speaking to domestic and foreign reporters in his weekly press briefing, he said that Iranians have got used to US rhetoric.

Given to numerous dreadful problems for the US forces in Iraq and Afghanistan along with crippling problems in the US society, it is unlikely that the Americans venture into another perilous situation which would bring deplorable consequences for them, he said.

"We hope those who think better and consider the realities in the US would be successful to help correct such policies," he said.

On trilateral talks between Iran, US and Iraq over the Iraqi security, Hosseini said, "We have not changed our stand and would continue talks with US over the Iraqi security in presence of Iraqi officials."

The exact time of trilateral talks has not specified yet and it would be made public as soon as it was fixed, he said.
