Tehran, April 7, IRNA
Any news about the new generation of centrifuges would be announced on National Nuclear Day (April 8), Foreign Ministry spokesman, Mohammad-Ali Hosseini, said on Monday.
"If there were any news about the new generation of centrifuges, it would be announced on the National Nuclear Day," Hosseini told reporters at his weekly press conference.
April 8 is marked as the National Nuclear Day in Iran for the great achievements made by Iranian scientists in the field of peaceful nuclear activities as a result of which Iran along with Brazil was recorded as the 8th country possessing nuclear fuel cycle.
Hosseini made the remarks commenting on reports about installation of the new generation of centrifuges in Iran.
"Similar reports were previously released in this connection and we commented on them so far," Hosseini said.
He added that even Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Mohamed ElBaradei had mentioned to the issue in his February 22 report about Iran's peaceful nuclear activities and made an inspection to Iran's nuclear sites in this connection.
ElBaradei presented his latest report to the agency's Board of Governors on February 22. In the 11-page report, ElBaradei verified Tehran's non-diversion from its civilian nuclear program.
