IRGC commander expects great achievements in missile industry

Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Mohammad-Ali Ja'fari on Wednesday expressed hope that the country will witness great achievements in defense industries particularly in the missile, naval and air sectors.
Congratulating reporters and people on the occasion of the New Iranian Year (started March 20, 2008), Ja'fari pointed to the designation of the current Iranian year as the 'Year of Innovation and Prosperity' by the Supreme Leader Seyed Ali Khamenei.
Major General Ja'fari expressed hope that in the wake of numerous efforts made earlier, the powerful Iranian nation will witness significant achievements in the new year.
Referring to the Zionists and certain foreign forces as the saboteurs in the region, he noted that the Islamic Republic of Iran enjoys unique security in the current situation.
"Although the enemies attempt to threaten the Islamic system of Iran, we witness satisfactory development in the country as a result of its appropriate security," he added.
He further noted that the security and defense forces including IRGC, Army and Basij (volunteer forces) can improve the tranquility and security more than ever, and officials of the Islamic system will be able to further serve the great Iranian nation.
Iranians will witness remarkable changes in utilization of new and modern weapons to preserve its security and defend its territory, he added.
Ja'fari also pointed to the current unity between Iran's armed forces in upholding security, thanked the forces for their efforts in serving the nation in different situations.
