Iran's Foreign Ministry on Monday ruled out latest statement of the European Union presidency about March 14 parliamentary election in Iran as a hasty, biased and unacceptable move.

While the final and official results of Iran's 8th Majlis election were not released yet by Iranian officials, It is surprising that the EU rotating presidency managed to assess the election and release a statement about it, Foreign Ministry spokesman, Mohammad-Ali Hosseini, said.

The 8th Majlis elections and the by-election for the Experts Assembly were concurrently held on Friday March 14.

Condemning the comments made by the EU's Slovenian presidency, Hosseini said they were "politically motivated."

He urged the EU presidency "to avoid making similar biased prejudgments" in the future.

He also suggested the EU presidency to correct its unfair and non-constructive approach towards the democratic process of voting in Iran by following up reports coming from the country about the parliamentary election results which are announced gradually by the election's headquarters.

"The 8th Majlis election were conducted in completely healthy and peaceful atmosphere with massive turnout of all Iranians and based on the country's Constitution and respective laws," Hosseini said.

He said that contesting of over 4,750 candidates for 290 seats of Iran's parliament indicated that different candidates were present in the election with different political agenda.

"Iranians would remember such interventionist measures for ever," he complained.

The spokesman added that those measures would not damage strong will of the Iranian nation.

The EU presidency should stop disrespect for the will of Iranians, he said.
