Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said on Monday that Iranian cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency has become "routine" in line with the Non-Proliferation Treaty and IAEA Safeguards.

Mottaki made the remarks in a joint press conference with his Swiss counterpart Micheline Calmy-Rey.

He said that the current cooperation between Iran and IAEA led to the settlement of all outstanding questions and the subsequent clean health bill by the UN nuclear agency on February 22.

He further noted that the measures of the United Nations Security Council are irrelevant and unfair adding that such an approach will damage the credibility of international bodies more than ever.

Expressing gratitude to his Swiss counterpart for accepting the invitation to pay a visit to Tehran, he said that Iranian officials have held talks with Swiss sides in Bern, Geneva, New York and other places on issues of mutual interests, and exchanged views on important regional and international developments including problems in Europe.

Mottaki also noted that Switzerland, taking independent stand towards the Islamic Republic of Iran, paved the ground for holding the negotiations.

"We have held three rounds of talks in the field of human rights, and are able to cooperate in upgrading the status of human rights at international level," he said.

The foreign minister went on to say that certain terrorists perpetrated in assassination and martyring Iranian officials and people after the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, are easily given safe haven by the western capitals.

Calmy-Rey, for her part, pointed to the different reasons of her visit to Iran for signing a gas deal and discussing the nuclear issue, adding that Switzerland is an neutral country and tries to help resolve problems of the nation.

She added that her country supports IAEA efforts in settling the nuclear dispute and encouraging Iran to expand cooperation with the UN nuclear watchdog.

Despite some differences, there are spaces for cooperation between Tehran and Bern, she noted.

Underlining the need for attaching importance to human rights, she added that Switzerland known as the territory of the Red Cross gives priority to human rights.
