IAEA clean health bill shocked Western governments: Vaeedi

Deputy Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) for International Affairs Javad Vaeedi said on Monday that the Western governments have been shocked by the IAEA clean health bill on Iran.

Asked why the European Union foreign policy and security chief Javier Solana, who has been leading dialogue with Iran for the past four years, has not made any comment, Vaeedi said Solana has nothing to say and has been shocked by the IAEA report.

The Western governments could not believe that Iran will enable the International Atomic Energy Agency to verify the issues of plutonium and P1 and P2 centrifuges peacefully until November, he added.

The Islamic Republic of Iran concluded the work, which could have been done in 18 months, only in less than six months, he said adding that even domestic politicians and experts believed that the time is not enough for Iran to answer all questions raised by the agency on schedule.

Underlining the need for insisting on Iran's inalienable rights, Vaeedi said the Western governments should know that the Iranian nation will never withdraw from its legitimate rights.

The Iranian nation has so far displayed perseverance in the field of nuclear energy and will continue with its legal path to the end.
