Elbaradei report shows Iran's transparency: Iranian envoy

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Tehran, Feb 23, IRNA
Iran-Nuclear-Bahrain
Iranian ambassador to Bahrain has said that the report of the Director General of International Atomic Energy Agency Mohamed ElBaradei shows the transparency of Islamic Republic's nuclear activities.

Speaking at a press conference in Manama, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian noted that the report confirmed the peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear activities.

Noting that the only legitimate and official center to study Iran's nuclear issue is the IAEA, he criticized the baseless claims of some countries vis-a vis the Islamic Republic's peaceful nuclear activities.

"Some countries failed in its attempt to deprive the Islamic Republic of its legitimate nuclear right," he said.

ElBaradei in its latest report added that during the last few months Iran had provided the UN nuclear watchdog access to many sites, which enable it to have a clearer picture of Iran's current program.

As for the peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear activities, ElBaradei underlined that, "I should however add that in connection with the weaponization studies, we have not seen any indication that these studies were linked to nuclear material."

Elbaradei submitted a 11-page report on Iran's cooperation with the UN atomic watchdog over its peaceful nuclear activities to the 35 member states in Vienna on Friday.
