Iran says that the report of Director General of IAEA Mohammad ElBaradei has declared that its past nuclear activities are peaceful.

Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Masha'allah Shakeri in a statement issued here by the Embassy on Saturday, said that it is a proved that the allegations of some few Western vested interests countries have been totally flawed and baseless and any action taken by UN Security Council lack all shades of logic and legality.

"Islamic Republic of Iran has always been serious and sincere in its full cooperation with the Agency and has been resolutely cooperating in a proactive manner for the implementation of the work plan which has been concluded between Iran and IAEA in August last year," he said.

Regarding his nuclear programme recent report, Iran said as per agreed modality with IAEA, six subjects i.e. plutonium, centrifuges PI and P2, the document on metallic uranium, polonium, Golchin mine and the source of pollution in one of the equipment of a technical university were determined as the remaining cases worth reviewing.

He said the Islamic Republic of Iran in line with its transparent and full cooperation with the IAEA has settled all of them even earlier than the stipulated deadline and ElBaradei too has in his report, declared the file pertaining to these subjects as closed.

The report fully indicates such an unprecedented and resolute voluntary cooperation with the IAEA on behalf of Iran which is beyond its obligation in accordance with the comprehensive safeguard agreement and has led to the implementation of the work plan and in fully resolving all outstanding issues much sooner than expected.

The ambassador said the report notes that the Iranian nation has been both unwavering in implementation of its legal obligations, and resolute in defending its inalienable right to obtain the nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.

It has become clear that Iran's peaceful nuclear program should be dealt with solely by the IAEA as a regular item on its agenda and thus, as envisaged in the work plan, the safeguard implementation in Iran has to be in routine manner from now on.
