Iran-G5+1-Larijani
Iran's former top nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani on Sunday advised the G5+1 to define its next step at a time when Iran's problems with the IAEA are about to be solved.
"You say you are concerned about the future. Well, negotiate for the future," the Supreme Leader's representative to the Supreme National Security Council told reporters on the sidelines of his address to a group of academics at al-Zahra University.
Larijani said concern about future holds true for all countries and it is not a matter confined to Iran alone.
He said "A smart diplomacy would help us create conditions in a way to design another plan to go ahead."
He went on to say that necessary political capacity is available for starting talks and the EU Foreign Policy Chief Javier Solana has said he is interested in continuing talks with Iran.
"Perhaps it would be better to encourage the G5+1 to start talks because preliminaries for the talks have been arranged," he added.
Elsewhere in the interview, Larijani said Iran and Egypt are both willing to resume diplomatic ties and the issue is in an advanced stage. "In that connection we are not in haste and move on with patience," he added.
