- Sagem Défense Sécurité secures the French Ministry of Defense’s Intranet Sagem (Safran group) 20 Dec 2005 -- Sagem Défense Sécurité today announced that the French Defense Procurement Agency (DGA) has selected it to supply and deploy Public Key Infrastructure (PKI). This PKI will manage the Ministry of Defense’s digital Intranet certificates (Intraced) used for classified defense needs.
- The French Defense Procurement Agency accepts the Syracuse3 system qualified by Alcatel Alenia Space Thales 19 Dec 2005 -- Alcatel Alenia Space today announced the acceptance by the French Defense Procurement Agency (DGA) of the Syracuse 3 spaceborne military communications system. Alenia Alenia Space has qualified the Syracuse 3 system two months after the Syracuse 3A satellite launch. Initial operation of the satellite telecommunications capabilities began mid-November.
- French PA2 carrier programme advanced to next design phase Thales 12 Dec 2005 -- The PA2 design phase was officially launched by French Minister for Defence Mme Michèle Alliot-Marie on 24 January 2005. The studies undertaken since early 2005 have focused on the opportunities for cooperation between the French PA2 and the British CVF programmes. These studies concluded, moreover, that the basic CVF design could, with limited tailoring, meet the French Navy's requirements.

- France awards BOA demonstrator contract to Thales, Giat Industries and Sagem Défense Sécurité Thales 09 Dec 2005 -- The French defence ministry on 8 December 2005 announced the award by the French defence procurement agency (Délégation Générale de l'Armement) of the concept design and demonstrator contract for the BOA1 cooperative fighting system to Thales, Giat Industries and Sagem Défense Sécurité, the members of a partnership formed for this programme.

- Thales to maintain and support French Navy ships Nivôse and Floréal Thales 23 Sep 2005 -- The French Navy's Fleet Support Service (SSF) has awarded Thales a contract for the maintenance and support of French Navy ships Nivôse and Floréal based on Reunion island in the Indian Ocean.
- France Gets Nuclear Fusion Plant VOA 28 Jun 2005 -- In an agreement announced Tuesday, France will get to host a project to build a multibillion-dollar nuclear fusion reactor designed to emulate the power of the sun. The announcement came after Japan withdrew its rival bid.
- World: France Chosen To Host Experimental Fusion Reactor Project RFE/RL 28 Jun 2005 -- France has been chosen to host a multibillion-dollar experimental nuclear-fusion reactor. The decision was made today in Moscow by representatives of six parties involved in the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor project -- Russia, Japan, the United States, the European Union, China, and South Korea.

- France Chosen To Host Fusion-Reactor Project RFE/RL 28 Jun 2005 -- After more than a year of negotiations, France has been chosen to host a multi-billion dollar experimental nuclear-fusion reactor.
- Final EC145 delivered to the French Sécurité Civile EADS 19 May 2005 -- Today, the Helicopter Group of the French Sécurité Civile took delivery of its final EC145. The order covered a total of 32 helicopters, all of which now proudly bear the colors of the Sécurité Civile. In the factory’s delivery center, Mr. Philippe Breval (Program Manager, EC145 Commercial Helicopters) handed over the helicopter's documentation to Mr. Christian Gautié (Manager, Aeronautical Programs Department) and Mr. Jean Michel Rochelet (Technical Advisor, Head of the Airmobile Resources Group [GMA]). The fleet of EC145 twin-engine helicopters operated by Eurocopter’s French launching customer Sécurité Civile has chalked up approximately 23,000 flight hours since the delivery of the first aircraft in April 2002.
- First Horizon Frigate successfully launched Thales 10 Mar 2005 -- On 10 March, the Forbin, the first Franco-Italian Horizon class anti-air warfare frigate was ceremonially launched at the DCN shipyard in Lorient.
- The French « Délégation Générale pour l'Armement » grants its acceptance to the first EC 725 EADS 10 Feb 2005 -- The follow-on deliveries spread out over 2005 and 2006. The latest newcomer to the Cougar range benefits not only from the operating experience of its predecessors, but also from major technical upgrades.
- Boeing Upgrades French AWACS Radar Boeing 01 Feb 2005 -- Boeing [NYSE: BA] recently completed upgrading the first of four French E-3F AWACS aircraft with a Radar System Improvement Program (RSIP) kit, ahead of schedule. The modification is part of a $133 million foreign military sales contract with Hanscom, Air Force Base, Mass.
