Pyongyang Calls UNSC Resolution Imposing Sanctions Over Nuke Tests 'Falsified'

The new UN Security Council resolution imposing new sanctions on North Korea following its nuclear test in September is "falsified," and it will deepen tensions on the Korean peninsula, the North Korean embassy to Moscow said in a press release on Thursday.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) – On Wednesday, the UN Security Council unanimously adopted the draft resolution condemning "in the strongest terms" the nuclear test conducted by North Korea on September 9. The resolution prohibited UN members from buying a number of North Korean exports, including coal and several metals.
"The UN Security Council has falsified the 'resolution on sanctions' condemning our nuclear warhead test in September 2016… The falsification of this… [resolution] completely denying our sovereignty, our right to exist and to develop will lead to more powerful response and self-defense measures. Sanctions will only provoke escalation of tensions," the press release reads.
According to the press release, the United States, which supervised this document, will take the whole responsibility, if the situation on the peninsula will become "uncontrolled."
The UN Security Council adopted the first resolution on North Korea in 1993. In 2016, the Security Council held nine emergency consultations in response to Pyongyang's nuclear tests and ballistic missile launches. This year the country conducted two nuclear tests and at least 25 launches using ballistic missile technology.
