Pyongyang, January 13 (KCNA) -- The service personnel and people of the DPRK are convinced that this year will be recorded in history as the one that hastened the final victory, says Rodong Sinmun Tuesday in an article.
Their final victory in the showdown with the U.S. is not a long way off, the article notes, and goes on:
They have a tradition of lawful victory that has lasted through generations.
They emerged victorious not only in the period after the liberation of the country and during the Fatherland Liberation War but also in the period of the post-war rehabilitation and in the subsequent period characterized by the fierce struggle to foil the U.S. imperialists' moves to ignite a new war.
The long history of the DPRK-U.S. showdown clearly proved that the winner was always the former.
On the contrary, the U.S. imperialists have a tradition of lawful defeat as it has historically sustained defeats, hit hard by the DPRK.
Giving a detailed account of the fact that the U.S. has resorted to the moves to put political pressure upon and isolate the DPRK and stifle its economy last year, the article says:
Such desperate moves all went belly-up.
Washington employed the whole gamut of base and impudent methods against the DPRK, only forcing the latter to bolster up its war deterrence for self-defence a thousand fold.
No matter how the international situation and the structure of relations with its surrounding countries may change, the DPRK will consistently adhere to the Songun politics and the line of promoting the two fronts simultaneously that can frustrate the moves of the enemy to stifle its socialist system, and staunchly strive to hasten the final victory.
