DPRK People Turn Out in Farming Preparation

Pyongyang, January 13 (KCNA) -- DPRK people have turned out in a campaign to assist the countryside in response to supreme leader Kim Jong Un's New Year address that called for bringing about an upturn in improving the people's living standards with agricultural production, animal husbandry and fishing as the main thrusts this year.
Those in North Hwanghae Province provided its co-op farms with tens of thousands of tons of manure and many farming materials, including farm implements, vinyl sheets and accessories for tractors.
Officials and employees at different organs and industrial establishments in the province as well as housewives went to the farms with aid materials and helped peasants in farming preparations.
Those in South Hamgyong Province carried tens of thousands of tons of manure to provincial farms on January 4 alone, while Jagang and Kangwon provinces set in motion all manpower and vehicles for carrying manure to farm fields.
Officials of ministries and national institutions on January 9 went to cooperative farms for the first Friday labor this year, with much manure and many farming materials, and encouraged the agricultural workers in farming preparation.
