Army-People Joint Rally Held to Mark 4th Anniversary of Victory in Yonphyong Island Shelling

Kangryong, November 23 (KCNA) -- An army-people joint rally took place in Kangryong County, South Hwanghae Province Sunday to mark the fourth anniversary of the victory in the Yonphyong Island shelling.
Present there were Ri Song Guk, commander of the Fourth Corps of the Korean People's Army, Pak Yong Ho, chief secretary of the South Hwanghae Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Choe Jong Ryong, chairman of the South Hwanghae Provincial People's Committee, officials concerned, KPA service personnel, soldiers who took part in the Yonphyong Island shelling and people from all walks of life in the county.
Ri Song Guk said that the Yonphyong Island shelling four years ago showed the stamina of the heroic KPA to the south Korean puppet forces keen on the moves for confrontation with the DPRK and recorded a page of proud victory in the history of Songun Korea.
The service personnel of the unit, which had consolidated the resourcefulness and valor of one-match-for-a-hundred under the care of the brilliant commanders of Mt. Paektu, fired strong artillery power to disgusting Yonphyong Island the moment when the enemies committed military provocation under the pretext for defending the 'northern limit line', and thus fully displayed the resolute will and indomitable might of the arms of Mt. Paektu, he noted.
