Pyongyang, October 28 (KCNA) -- Kim Il Sung Military University greets its 60th birthday Sunday.

The university is the highest seat for the Juche-oriented military education that has embodied the idea and line of army building of Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, a pedigree establishment that has trained cadres of the powerful revolutionary army of Mt. Paektu and .

With deep insight into the importance of bringing up military officials in building revolutionary armed forces, President Kim Il Sung established the university, an institution that trains commanding officers of the army, on Oct. 28, 1952.

The President chose the site of the university and visited it many times to give valuable instructions for its development though he was busy with the post-war rehabilitation.

Thanks to the energetic guidance of leader Kim Jong Il, a military genius and a peerlessly brilliant commander of Songun, the university developed into the world-level institution for military education.
