o On January 20, North Korea held an exhibition of posters on achievement of tasks specified in this year’s joint editorial in a bid to encourage exhaustive implementation of those tasks by its people including workers.

[ Outside North Korea ]

o On January 23, Kim Jong-il received Wang Jia Rui, head of the International Liaison Department of the Communist Party of China, and his attaches visiting North Korea, who delivered a letter from President Hu Jintao.

o On January 21, the Korean Central News Agency of North Korea made a brief report on the inauguration of American president Barack Obama.

[ Inter-Korean Issues ]

o North Korean media propagandized that many North Korean dignitaries expressed support for the General Staff’s statement (dated January 17) on taking an all-out confrontational posture against South Korea.
