- Kim Jong-Il’s public activities during the fourth week of October- During the first week of October, North Korean media have reported Kim Jong-Il’s public activity five times.
- Completion of 100,000-house building in Pyongyang City – The Korean Central News Agency has reported on Oct 21 that 100,000 houses have been built in Pyongyang City .
Inter-Korean Affairs
- Criticizing the forty first Korea-U.S. security consultative meeting (SCM)- The North has criticized the forty first annual Korea-U.S. security consultative meeting. The North has claimed that “Military authorities of the U.S. and the South have mentioned nuclear threats and military response, and that is an effort to put a damper on the atmosphere of dialogue and cooperation. It is reported by Roding Sinmun and Democratic Chosun on Oct 24.
Foreign Affairs
- Claim for co-relating Korean Peninsula ’s denuclearization and world’s denuclearization – Rodong Shinbo has posted a commentary on Oct 21 and Democratic Chosun has posted a commentary on Oct 24. The newspaper said that all nuclear weapons should be removed for nuclear-free Korean peninsular. The newspaper called for extension of denuclearization in order to urge nuclear disarmament around the world.
