Internal Affairs

• Kim Jong-Il’s public activities during the third week of October- During the first week of October, North Korean media have reported Kim Jong-Il’s public activity once.
• Rodong Sinmun ,’Reflection of the 60 years’ Juche Industry’ – The North reported that “ Juche Industry has prospered from nothing over the 60 years and the history of renewal and self-strength has been reflected in the history.”

Inter-Korean Affairs

• Emphasis on June 15 Joint Declaration, Oct 4 Declaration of Inter-Korean Summit - The North has emphasized cooperation projects with the South in economic, social, cultural and humanitarian sectors. In particular, the North has said that it should expand economic cooperation in resuming Mt. Geumgang tourism, Gaeseong Industrial Complex and vitalization of Gaeseong Industrial Complex. It is reported on Sep 17 by Rodong Sinmun.
• Naval Command of the Korean People’s Army, claiming that South Korean ship’s border-crossing and threat – The North has claimed that a South Korean ship has crossed the border according to its press release of Naval Command of the Korean People’s Army. The North has said that ‘Don’t be frivolous’. It is reported on Oct 15 by Korean Central News Agency.

Foreign Affairs

• Claim for co-relating Korean Peninsula ’s denuclearization and world’s denuclearization – Rodong Sinmun has posted a commentary on Oct 14 and a speech in the first commission of UN’s general assembly on Oct 12. The newspaper said that all nuclear weapons should be removed for nuclear-free Korean peninsular. The newspaper called for extension of denuclearization in order to urge nuclear disarmament around the world.
