- Kim Jong-Il’s public activity for the first week in October- North Korean Media reported Kim Jong-Il’s public activities for five times from September 28 to Oct 3.
- Groundbreaking ceremony of Miroobul, the water channel - The North reported the groundbreaking ceremony of Miroobul, the water channel, on September 29. It is reported by Korean Central Television on September 29.
Inter-Korean Affairs
- Reports on separated family reunion on Chuseok holidays – The North Korea media reported reunion of separated families in detail from September 28 to October 4. The media include Korean Central Television, Chosun Central Television, Rodong Sinmun and Chosun Shinbo.
- Criticism of President Lee’s ‘Grand Bargain’- The North’s Korean Central News Agency has issues a report criticizing President Lee’s proposal to resolve the North’s nuclear issue, Grand Bargain. The report came on September 30.
- The 2 nd anniversary of Oct 4 Joint Declaration – On the occasion of the 2 nd anniversary of Oct 4 Joint Declaration, the North Korean media have reported the importance of complying with June 15 and Oct 4 Joint Declarations. It is reported by Rodong Sinmun from October 1 to 5.
Foreign Affairs
- Press conference denouncing UNSCR 1887 from spokesperson of Foreign Affairs ministry – The spokesperson from Foreign Affairs Ministry held a press conference with Korean Central News Agency and denounced UNSCR 1887 completely. The spokesperson has claimed that it will make efforts to build a nuclear-free world and denuclearize the Korean peninsular under the circumstance where the issue is related to US ’ nuclear weapons’ policy.
- The North’s calling for a change in US’ policy in UN General Assembly – Park Gil-yon, Deputy Foreign Minister delivered a speech in the UN General Assembly on September 28. He claimed that denuclearization of the Korean peninsular depends on a change in US’ policy. To achieve the change, the U.S should in deed change by itself.
