Pyongyang, May 26 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il inspected a sub-unit of KPA Unit 836.
He acquainted himself with the sub-unit's performance of duty and training. He expressed satisfaction over the fact that the servicepersons of the sub-unit have grown to be a-match-for-a-hundred fighters whom no formidable enemy dares provoke and set forth the tasks to be fulfilled by the sub-unit to increase its combat capability.
He dropped in at the education room to learn about the ideological education and cultural and emotional life of its servicepersons.
He was greatly satisfied to learn that the sub-unit is conducting its political work in a unique manner to suit the soldiers' sentiments and mentality and all of them fully enjoy a cultural and emotional life by using various cultural means.
All the units of the KPA are preparing the soldiers as fighters strong in faith by paying primary attention to the politico-ideological work, he noted, adding: Attaching importance to ideology is, indeed, a powerful treasured sword in the possession of the KPA only and a Korean style mode of building the army and an invincible banner to be always held aloft.
Seeing the compound of the barracks and the thick woodland around it, he said that the trees planted more than a decade ago formed a thick forest. He appreciated the patriotism displayed by the soldiers of the unit.
Only when the soldiers have the spirit of socialist patriotism can they cherish high pride and deep self-esteem for socialism in the DPRK and ardently love it and staunchly fight to protect the socialist motherland and the revolutionary gains from the enemy's encroachment, he said, stressing the need to wage a more dynamic movement for sprucing up their post better.
Then he took deep care of the soldiers' living, walking round supply service facilities.
He had a photo session with the servicepersons of the sub-unit.
