Pyongyang, May 12 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il provided field guidance to the Kyongsong Ceramic Factory and the Onpho Rest Home. The first leg of his guidance was the Kyongsong Ceramic Factory.
Going round production processes including the calcinating shop, he acquainted himself in detail with technological updating and production there.
He praised the workers and technicians of the factory for mass-producing various kinds of quality pottery by energetically pushing forward its technological updating and raising the level of their technical skill.
He put forward the tasks to be fulfilled by the factory, saying that the ceramic industry holds a very important place in more satisfactorily meeting the daily growing material and cultural needs of the people.
He stressed that it is most important for the factory with a long history and rich experience to play a hardcore role in the development of the ceramic industry and preserve the tradition peculiar to Korean pottery, in particular.
Underscoring the need to firmly build the factory into the nation's leading pottery producing base to meet the needs of the people for pottery, he noted that to this end officials, workers and technicians should give fuller play to the spirit of devoted service for the people.

Our working people received the benefit of taking rest at rest homes even during the period of the "Arduous March," the forced march when the conditions of the country were so hard and they will continue to do so in the future, too, he said, adding that this is the firm determination and will of the WPK which regards it as the supreme principle of its activities to promote the wellbeing of the people.
