Floral Baskets Laid before Kim Il Sung's Statues

    Pyongyang, August 15 (KCNA) -- People from all walks of life across the country laid floral baskets before the statues of President Kim Il Sung today on the occasion of the 61st anniversary of the liberation of the country. Pyongyang citizens visited the statue of the President on Mansu Hill.
    Standing before the statue was a floral basket sent by Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army. Amid the playing of the floral basket-laying music floral baskets in the name of the party and power organs, public organizations, ministries, national institutions, scientific, educational, cultural, art, public health and media organs, factories, enterprises, farms and schools and bouquets and flowers were laid before the statue. A floral basket in the name of the Pyongyang Mission of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front was also presented there.
    Seen in the ribbons of the baskets were letters reading "The great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung will live forever", "The great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung will always be with us", "The great revolutionary exploits of the respected leader Generalissimo Kim Il Sung are immortal!"
    Floral baskets, bouquets and flowers were also laid before his statues at different units in the city including Kim Il Sung University, the Korean Film Studio and the Pyongyang Schoolchildren's Palace.
    Working people from all walks of life and school youth and children in different parts of the country also placed floral baskets, bouquets and flowers before the statues of Kim Il Sung in their residential quarters.
    Meanwhile, floral baskets and bouquets were laid before his statue in Chongjin, North Hamgyong Province, by the consul general and officials of the consulate general of Russia and officials of the consulate general of China and Chinese delegations staying in Chongjin.
