Kim Jong Il Enjoys Performance Given by KPA State Merited Chorus

Pyongyang, August 15 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il together with servicepersons of the KPA, watched a performance given by the State Merited Chorus of the KPA. He was given a standing ovation as he appeared in the auditorium.
The chorus honored with "Kim Il Sung Order" put on the stage such chorus numbers as "Song Devoted to Marshal Kim Il Sung," "The General Is Banner of Victory", "Song of the Korean People's Army", "My Native Place", "Nobody Knows", "Let Us Meet in Front" and "For the Motherland."
The performance emotionally sang of the proud path of victory and glory and truthfully portrayed the iron faith and will of the Korean army and people to accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche and the cause of building a great prosperous powerful nation under the uplifted banner of Songun whatever difficulties and ordeals may stand in their way.
The performance full of revolutionary and militant spirit deeply impressed the audience.
Kim Jong Il acknowledged the enthusiastic cheers of performers and audience and congratulated the chorus on its successful performance.
He extended thanks to the artistes of the chorus, greatly satisfied over their excellent performance fully reflecting the faith and will of the Korean people and the revolutionary soldier spirit.
He expressed great expectation and conviction that all the artistes of the chorus would positively inspire the army and people to fresh struggle and feats with their brisk revolutionary art activities and thus fully demonstrate the might of the chorus as a trumpeter of Songun revolution and a militant art group.
He was accompanied by KPA general officers including KPA Generals Ri Myong Su, Hyon Chol Hae and Pak Jae Gyong, first vice department directors of the WPK Central Committee Ri Je Gang and Ri Jae Il and other senior officials of the WPK Central Committee.
