National Art Exhibition Opens

    Pyongyang, February 11 (KCNA) -- A national art exhibition to celebrate February 16 was opened. Put on display at the exhibition hall are more than 50 pieces of art works listed as national treasures including those showing the personalities of the three generals of Mt. Paektu as peerlessly great persons.
    Among them are oil painting "The great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung and anti-Japanese war hero Comrade Kim Jong Suk enjoying sunrise over Mt. Paektu" and Korean painting "On top of Mt. Paektu."
    They impressively depict the immortal exploits of President Kim Il Sung, who made great contributions to the times, the revolution, the country and the people by making a history and traditions of steady victories and successfully solving the issue of succession to the leadership in carrying out the revolutionary cause of Juche, and the noble revolutionary life of Kim Jong Suk, who devoted her all to the cause of liberating the country by making a long journey of bloody anti-Japanese battles and gave a steady continuity to the traditions of the Korean revolution by giving birth to Kim Jong Il, a bright star over Mt. Paektu.
    Also on display in the hall are Korean painting "Blizzard on Mt. Paektu", "Leaving Giant Footprints for Songun Leadership", "Praising Our Soldiers' Singing as Best" and "Blue Sky over My Country" and other works dealing with the noble personality of leader Kim Jong Il as a great man making ceaseless inspections of the front and providing endless on-site guidance to different units.
    Drawing the eyes of visitors are works of various genres such as sculpture "I am a young man of liberated Korea" reflecting the unshakable faith and will of the army and people of the DPRK to share their destiny with the headquarters of the revolution to the last, rallied close around Kim Jong Il, Korean paintings "Ullim Falls" and "Beads Falls" showing the beautiful scenery of Songun Korea and other works dealing with the Koreans' happy life and their desire for national reunification. An opening ceremony took place at the Korean Art Gallery on Feb. 1
