  • Letter to UN Secretary General KCNA 28 Jul 2004 -- Colonel General Ri Chan Bok, representative of the Panmunjom Mission of the Korean People's Army, on July 26 sent a letter to Kofi Annan, secretary general of the United Nations, as regards the touch-and-go situation prevailing on the Korean peninsula due to the U.S. massive arms build-up in south Korea.
  • DPRK FM Refutes U.S. Accusation against It over "Human Rights Issue" KCNA 28 Jul 2004 -- A spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, answering a question put by KCNA Tuesday as regards the U.S. House of Representatives' recent passage of the "bill on human rights in north Korea," dismissed it as one full of lies and fabrications because it slandered the DPRK, making a nonsensical talk about "protection of basic human rights" and "transparency and inspection of humanitarian aid to north Korea".
  • U.S. Wrong Approach to Nuclear Issue Refuted KCNA 28 Jul 2004 -- A spokesman for the U.S. State Department recently said the Korean peninsula should be denuclearized in a complete, verifiable and irreversible way and this is the only way possible, while repeating the claim that the DPRK must scrap its nuclear program first.
