Papers Observe Day of Victory in War

Pyongyang, July 27 (KCNA) -- Papers here Tuesday editorially observe the 51st anniversary of the victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War.
Rodong Sinmun says that the immortal exploits President Kim Il Sung performed by winning the war will always remain shining on the road of the Songun revolution, adding that the victory in the war was a victory of the President's outstanding military idea and strategy and his matchless gut and pluck and a victory of the single-hearted unity of the army and the people who fought closely rallied around him.
The paper continues:
The President was the peerlessly brilliant commander fully possessed of all outstanding dispositions and traits as a famous commander.
The 40 year long history of the revolutionary struggle of leader Kim Jong Il is being exalted as the glorious history of struggle as he laid a reliable foundation for the Korean army and people to always win victories in the struggle to defend the country and in socialist construction.
Thanks to his Songun revolutionary leadership the Korean People's Army has grown to be invincible revolutionary armed forces capable of reliably defending the country, its people and the socialist system from attacks by any formidable enemy and nothing can ever break the single-hearted unity of all the people and servicepersons around him.
The paper calls for preserving well the immortal exploits performed by the President in winning the war, firmly defending the ideology, the system and the cause of the DPRK and glorifying the great Songun era as an era of great prosperity of Kim Il Sung's Korea under the great banner of Songun.
It underscores the need for all the servicepersons and people to devotedly defend the headquarters of the revolution headed by Kim Jong Il and demonstrate the militant might of the army-people unity in the efforts to realize his far-reaching plan to build a great prosperous powerful nation.
It also calls for increasing the country's military capacity for self-defence.
Minju Joson calls on the people to successfully carry forward the President's immortal exploits in winning the war under the uplifted banner of Songun, become victors in the final confrontation with the U.S. and give a steady continuity to the ever-victorious traditions of the Korean revolution.
