- KCNA Refutes Rumsfeld's Anti-DPRK Vituperation KCNA 29 Sept 2003-- U.S. Defense Secretary Rumsfeld reportedly let loose a string of malignant vituperation against the DPRK at a luncheon hosted by the Association of U.S. and South Korean Businessmen. He told nonsense that it is necessary to make sure that the rays of freedom reach the oppressed north Koreans, asserting that a satellite photo shows the rays of freedom on one part of the Korean peninsula and the darkness of dictatorship on the other part of it and communism is shaking on its own.
- Reception Given on PRC Anniversary KCNA 29 Sep 2003 -- The Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries and the Central Committee of the Korea-China Friendship Association hosted a reception at Chongryu Restaurant last evening on the occasion of the 54th birthday of the People's Republic of China.
- South and Overseas Delegations here KCNA 29 Sep 2003 -- The south side's delegation headed by Jon Jae Jin, chairman of the Society for Probing the Truth behind the Sinking of Ship Ukishima by Explosion and the overseas delegation led by Hong Sang Jin, secretary general of the Central Headquarters of the Korean Side of the Fact-finding Group of the Forcible Drafting of Koreans arrived here on Sept. 27 to participate in the Pyongyang symposium for probing the truth behind the "Ukishima-Maru" incident.
- International Scientific Symposium on Potato Held KCNA 29 Sep 2003 -- An international scientific symposium on potato took place in Pyongyang from Sept. 24 to 26. Present at the symposium were delegations and delegates of the DPRK, international organizations and foreign countries, the resident coordinator of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, the UN resident coordinator who is deputy resident representative of the UNDP and officials of international organizations and foreign embassies.
- Decision of South Korean National Assembly Blasted KCNA 29 Sep 2003 -- The Secretariat of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland issued information bulletin No. 850 on Sept. 26 as regards the decision made by the "Cultural and Tourist Committee" of the south Korean National Assembly on Sept 25 to visit Pyongyang and Kaesong along the Seoul-Sinuiju land route from October 6 to 9 and make a "state policy inspection regarding the north".
- Japan's Political Bargaining Dismissed KCNA 29 Sep 2003 -- The Japanese government reiterated its stand on September 19 that it would not resume talks on normalizing relations with the DPRK unless the issue of abduction is settled.

Korean Chief Delegate to Inter-Korean Ministerial Talks KCNA 29 Sep 2003 -- Kim Ryong Song, head of the north side to the North-South Ministerial Talks, today sent a telephone message to Jong Se Hyon, chief delegate of the south side as regards the decision of the Cultural and Tourist Committee of the south Korean National Assembly to make a "state policy inspection regarding the north".
