'Mission Action 2013B' trans-MAC mobile campaign exercise kicks off

GUANGZHOU, October 12 (ChinaMil) -- A trans-MAC mobile campaign exercise codenamed 'Mission Action 2013B' officially kicked off at 19:30 on October 11, 2013. It is another trans-MAC mobile campaign exercise following the 'Mission Action 2013A' organized by the Nanjing Military Area Command (MAC) of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) and the 'Mission Action 2013C' organized by the PLA Air Force.
The participating troops totaling over 20,000 are mainly from related forces of the 42nd Combined Corps of the Guangzhou MAC, the East China Sea Fleet and the South China Sea Fleet of the PLA Navy, the air forces of the Nanjing MAC and the Guangzhou MAC, and an airborne troop unit, etc. They will branch out into many columns and rapidly maneuver to the exercise area in such forms as motorized maneuver, air delivery, railway transportation and shipping.
The reporter learnt from the Directing Department of the exercise, the two sides will focus on air-raid and counter-air-raid, reconnaissance and counter-reconnaissance, and harassment and counter-harassment in such forms as network and electronic confrontation and actual-troop confrontation.
