President's Emergency Operations Center - PEOC

Below the East Wing of the White House, lies the President's Emergency Operations Center (PEOC), which exists to handle nuclear contingencies. The PEOC is reportedly hardened to withstand up to 20 psi of blast overpressure from a nuclear detonation. The PEOC is differentiated from the White House Situation Room which is located in the basement of the West Wing of the White House.
