Extremely High Frequency (EHF) Replenishment Satellite (U)
Overview (U):
(U) The EHF Replenishment satellite is currently envisioned by the DoD Space Architect, MILSATCOM Architecture Development as the follow-on capability to the Advanced EHF satellite program. The system will provide the basis for the next generation military communications satellite system, for survivable, jam-resistant, worldwide, secure, communications for the strategic and tactical warfighter.

Description (U):
(U) The EHF Replenishment Satellite will replace the Advanced EHF communications satellite. These EHF satellites will provide protected, anti-jam communications for strategic and tactical users. The waveform of the new satellites is to be backward compatible with the Medium Data Rate (MDR) capabilities of the Milstar II satellites and the Advanced EHF satellites. The EHF Replenishment Satellite will be equipped with a single channel protected service capacity of 10 Mbps using a waveform that is interoperable with the space communications capability of those systems operating in the Ka spectrum. Current plans call for a Milestone Defense Acquisition Board (DAB) around 2011 and for the EHF Replenishment Satellite to be available for launch in 2015.
