Extremely High Frequency (EHF) Satellite Systems (U)
(U) Extremely High Frequency (EHF) satellites provide protected, jam resistant, low probability of intercept, and survivable (anti-scintillation) communications for strategic and tactical military communications in any military environment. EHF communications satellites provide communications to ensure minimum essential command and control of the warfighting forces of the U.S. The Milstar satellites will provide the primary means of communicating using the EHF frequency from 65 degrees north lattitude to 65 degrees south lattitude. Two Polar Adjunct packages will be launched on host satellites to provide 24-hour communications in the polar regions. The Advanced EHF satellite is being developed as the replacement for the Milstar satelites.
