Map Ta Phut Port
The seaport at U Taphao and the adjacent naval air base are part of the expanding industrial development in the southeastern Rayong region of Thailand. In September 1992, the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) awarded a contract to the Thai Prosperity Terminal Company to operate the Map Ta Phut Industrial Port's multi-purpose terminal. The multi-purpose terminal is one of the port's three terminals. It services shipments of bulk cargo, commodities and ore.
Map Ta Phut Industrial Port is a high-capacity industrial port catered to serve heavy industries with a wide range of public utilities and infrastructure services. Map Ta Phut is presently the biggest industrial port in Thailand, set in a strategic location suitable for all types of industries, and is often considered as the golden gateway for Thai Industrialism. Moreover, the Map Ta Phut Industrial Port offers One Stop Service with emphasis on equal treatment for all its customers at the best international standards.
In accordance to the Thai government's policy to promote and encourage investment in the Kingdom, public utilities and infrastructure projects have been developed in preparation to serve the upcoming industrial business. The Map Ta Phut Industrial Port was established with this in mind and is moreover a part pf the Master Plan for the Eastern Seaboard Development Program supervised by the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand, with the goal to becoming the center for industrial business in Southeast Asia. To realize its objective of encouraging industrial operations, Map Ta Phut Industrial Port was constructed to accommodate significant types and numbers of vessels, equipments from industrial factories, dry bulk products, liquid bulk products, as well as heavy vessels, and thus serves as a basic infrastructure to help maintain competitive edge in terms of production and export capability.
The strategic location offers good environment and suitable topography for industrial development. The Map Ta Phut Port is located in the Province of Rayong, and is situated on the Gulf of Thailand on stretch of east-west oriented coastline approximately midway between Sattahip to the west and Koh Samet Island to the east. The site is approximately 220 km. by road from Bangkok and effectively faces open sea to the south. This seaport is located at the eastern part of the gulf of Thailand and it is sheltered of the gulf of Thailand and it is sheltered by breakwater. Location: Lat 12° 40' N. Long 101° 10' E.
Public Terminals (PT) do not restrict the number of customers and are equipped with basic infrastructure, such as terminals, warehouses, open yard and equipment. The following are public terminals: - General Cargo Berth Thai Prosperity Terminal Co., Ltd. was awarded a 30-year concession to manage the terminal. Liquid Cargo Berth Thai Tank Terminal Co., Ltd. was awarded a 30-year concession to manage the terminal.

- - MTT Terminal (Maptaphut Tank Terminal Co., Ltd)
- - Glow SPP3 Terminal (Glow SPP3 Co., Ltd)
