8th Fighter Group
The 8th Fighter Group is primarily located at Taoyuan Air Base though it is as of 2003 temporarily located at Ching Chuan Kang Air Base while Taoyuan undergoes construction.
The 8th Fighter Group is subordinate to the Taoyuan Command and is comprised of three squadrons: the 4th Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron and the 15th and 16th Fighter Squadrons. The 4th TRS flies the RF-5E while the 15th and 16th squadrons fly the F-5.
During World War II the 8th Group was a bomber unit and was organized with the 10th, 14th, 19th, and 30th squadrons.
In the 1986 the group was reactivated and its units began flying the F-5 aircraft.
