Yak-44E - Electronics

Onboard radio-electronic equipment of aircraft is the totality of the functionally connected information and information-control systems, digital computational means, systems of control and indication. The basic exchange of data carriers between the systems is accomplished along the multiplex channels of exchange of data carriers. Flight complex ensures the continuous automatic determination of moving coordinates according to the data of inertial systems with the correction with the subject of radio equipment of near, far and satellite navigation, forming and mapping flight information about the state of aircraft systems and the parameters of power plant on the cathode-ray indicators. The integrated system for control ensures automatic air navigation in the horizontal and vertical planes along the programmed route, automatic landing approach on the signals of ground radio-technical equipment, stabilization of the given values of height, speed, course, bank, pitch.

Weather-navigation RLS ensures indication of information about thunderstorm weather formations and issuing recommendations regarding their optimum circling. Onboard automated system of control ensures the functional test and technical state of systems and equipment in flight, the documentation of the results of control and their transfer along the telemetric communication channels for the ground stations of technical basing, the control of operational-flight limitations, the search for malfunctions, the prognostication of technical state, the calculation of the remainder of the service life of systems and equipment.

On the aircraft is established the system for control, which is the integrated analog-to-digital system for control of aircraft and high-lift device of wing with the autonomous steering drives, that ensures flight with different position of center of gravity in aircraft, connected with the different versions of equipment and servicing with fuel. The fuselage of large diameter made it possible to freely place equipment also of the operators of guidance, and it also ensured to crew comfortable conditions for work and leisure. Besides the working cab of the operators of guidance was provided it cut off for leisure one person, the washroom and canteen.

This made it possible to preserve the fitness for work of crew at the high level during the endurance flight. In regard to this in the book "naval aviation of Russia and scientific and technical progress", published by the scientists Of [gosNIIAS], is given interesting fact. It occurs, after the appearance in the USSR of a design of the Yak-44E in the USA were executed the studies, which foresee a notable increase in the flight time of American analog Yak-44[E] - aircraft Hawkeye. Technically this problem was solved simply - two external fuel tanks were placed on the aircraft. However, these design studies were ended: in the compartment of the aircraft Of hawkeye, which had the substantial smaller diameter of fuselage, to ensure the fitness for work of crew during this flight time was, it seems, impossible.
