RTI JSC

RTI is engaged in the development and production of high-tech products and infrastructure solutions using its own microelectronic technologies. The company unites assets in the field of defense solutions, integrated security systems, microelectronics and ICT. It is part of PJSC AFK Sistema. The main owner of RTI is AFK Sistema with 87% of shares. Sovcombank, which owned 10% of RTI, left the company's capital, the bank said 25 December 2017. The bank did not disclose a buyer of a 10 percent stake. Another 3% of RTI belong to Sergey Boyev, who heads the board of directors of the company. AFK Sistema in late 2016 increased its share in the RTI to 87% from 71.68%, having bought 15.32% from VTB. The Bank inherited this shareholding from the Bank of Moscow. The amount of the transaction was then estimated at 4.5 billion rubles with a final settlement in 2019.

RTI JSC [Radio Technical Institute] is a Russian research and production concern, a leading developer, manufacturer and supplier of complex technological solutions, such as radar systems, complex automated control systems and situational centers, communication facilities, electronic devices and microelectronics. Concern RTI has its own well-developed R & D infrastructure and well-equipped production sites where more than 15,000 scientists, designers, engineers and highly qualified specialists work. All this allows RTI to implement large-scale and unique projects of a national scale and create high-tech innovative products.

RTI is the largest private Russian research and production concern, which includes 20 manufacturing enterprises, research and design institutes located in Moscow, Saransk, Zelenograd, Dubna, Nizhny Novgorod and Vladivostok. The RTI group includes Concern RTI Systems, Mikron and a number of other companies and enterprises. By 2018 some 15 thousand people worked at RTI enterprises. The core competencies of the concern include the development, production and supply of sophisticated technological solutions, such as radar systems, integrated automated control systems and situational centers, communications, electronic devices, micro- and nanoelectronics.

The group of companies AO RTI is a defense holding established by AFK Sistema and the Bank of Moscow in February 2011 on the basis of RTI Concern RTI Systems. According to the official website, Sistema owns 74.7% of the authorized capital of the RTI, VTB Bank - 15.3%, Sovcombank - the remaining 10%. In early 2017, it was reported that VTB would sell Sistema its share in RTI and simultaneously refinance the loans of the holding company on preferential terms, becoming its largest creditor.

The RTI group develops radio and space technologies, security systems, microelectronics, system integration, and defense state projects. The group includes 21 enterprises, in particular, OJSC "NIIME and Mikron", CJSC "NVision Group". Over the past six years, RTI has been among the top 100 global defense companies, according to The Defense News. In 2017, the proceeds from the sale of weapons amounted to $ 565.9 million (86th in the ranking). In total, more than 15,000 employees work in the RTI group.

New radars were presented at the international military forum "Army-2016" in the Moscow region of Kubinka. The enterprises of the concern RTI will demonstrate, in particular, the over-the-horizon radar of the surface wave Laguna and Sunflower-E , the radar Surok, Vitim and MPLS, Interfax-AVN reports on materials from the company . Thus, the "Surok" radar station is recognized by specialists as one of the most effective and economically justified means of operative creation of circular zones for the continuous control of the air situation in areas not controlled by other means.

And the "Vitim" radar is an information control device for the aerospace environment, which provides in a continuous mode the detection, tracking and classification of ballistic, space and aerodynamic objects passing through a given surveillance zone. These radars were created by specialists of the Radiotechnical Institute named after Academician ALMints and the Institute of Long-Distance Radio Communication.

The Yaroslavl radio plant, also part of the RTI, also presented its products at the Army-2016 . He will show the portable radio station of the new generation "Azart", the modernized communication complex of KB "Akveduk", VHF radio station R-620 . In addition, participants in the forum will see marine EPIRB ARBM-406N , aviation emergency rescue station P-855S and emergency rescue HF station for strategic aircraft P-861 M1.

In March 2018 OAO OKB-Planeta (part of the RTI Group) presented a report at the III All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference "Actual Issues of the Status, Development and Operation of Airborne Airborne Equipment Complexes, Training of Aviation Personnel", describing projects in the field of import substitution of the electronic component base, development of modern optical components - elements of radio-photonics and plans to create a project of a radio-photon component base.

OKB-Planeta is one of the leading enterprises in the field of development and manufacturing of microwave semiconductor components in the Russian Federation. The product line of the company is arsenide-gallium microwave chips and discrete components, "classical" silicon components - diodes, varicaps, transistors, zener diodes, mastered the production of thin-film GIS (hybrid integrated circuits) on dielectric substrates. At the moment, also in the development of new optical components: vertical-emitting lasers, optical radiation receivers, photonic integrated circuits for new generation radio equipment.

Concern RTI, the developer and creator of reconnaissance and information means for the ground level of the Russian Missile Attack Warning System, plans to engage in the export of security. The company has always set and sets the most ambitious goals in all segments of its presence - radar, automated control systems and security, communications and microelectronics. This approach allowed "RTI" to maintain the position of one of the leaders of the Russian market of high-tech products.

At the same time, the previous strategy was based on a fairly large increase in production volumes. And in view of the fact that it is planned to reduce the further financing of the State Armament Program (GVP), by 2018 RTI hardly can expect a large-scale loading of our production capacities through the state defense order. Based on this, the company's strategy will be partly corrected. The main vector of focus is the growth of efficiency. Substantial growth of productivity at the enterprises is necessary. Previously, only financial goals were set, the efficiency of production of attention was paid less.

In 2016, the defence business of RTI was focused on state defence contracts, most of which were for radars. As part of the creation of a continuous radar field for the missile warning system, RTI Group companies completed testing of three new radar stations in Orsk, Barnaul and Yeniseysk, and also commissioned radar stations in Irkutsk and Kaliningrad. In 2016, Mikron Group reaffirmed its status of Russia's largest producer of microelectronic products and a technological leader, and made a breakthrough in the field of import independence for Russia's strategic industries and expansion of exports. Mikron remains the undisputed market leader in terms of sales and technological sophistication. With the only functioning production facility at the level of 180-90 nm in Russia, Mikron provides more than 30% of all supplies of Russian microelectronics manufacturers. The importance of having its own component base for Russia's technological independence and cybersecurity strengthens Mikron's position in the public sector and expands opportunities in the formation of protected markets and PPPs for developing next-generation microchips for the energy sector, healthcare and distributed computing systems.

In 2016, Mikron began supplying chips for third-generation navigation satellites Glonass-K. Mikron-produced microchips will replace foreign counterparts in units performing information processing and communications functions. Mikron's main achievement in the area of bank cards was the development and production of a 100% Russian-made microchip with proprietary operating system for the national bank cards Mir. Mikron produced more than 600,000 integrated circuits in 2016 as part of the Mir project.

Director General of the Concern "RTI" Maxim Kuzyuk told TASS in September 2017 : "Now with the development of technologies and systems based on microelectronics, a new stage is coming: if the state does not have its own electronics, then it is forced to build its systems based on imported solutions, which, firstly, is unsafe, and secondly, what technological " independence "then you can talk? Imagine this situation: tickets for Moscow transport is not delivered by our Russian "Micron", but by a foreign contractor. And at some point - because of the next wave of sanctions or for some other extreme reason - the travel cards stop shipping. What we have is a traffic collapse! Or the chips for bank cards would not be delivered to us - stop the entire system of non-cash payments because of this? It is very important that today Russia has its own independent microelectronic production."
