MT-LB + 2M-3 25-mm
An unusual hybrid of military equipment appeared in the Russian army. On the chassis of the lightly armored transporter MT-LB, developed in 1964, a 25-mm double-barreled automatic naval anti-aircraft gun 2M-3 was installed. As Defense Express informed, Russia has recorded two MT-LBs with the 2M-3 anti-aircraft gun installed on them. According to the fact that several vehicles have been recorded at once, it is possible to claim that russians launched such a "modernization" in the series. This creation is praised by Russians, calling the work carried out "incredible", which "can easily give a head start to any other weapons".
The term "hillbilly hardware" is colloquial term for homemade or improvised equipment. So-called “hillbilly” armor is unit-fabricated using whatever materials can be scrounged. An effective field expedient configuration for a gun truck with a cargo bed is a gun box with a pedestal-mounted machine gun placed in an armored “box” located in the bed of the truck. This is accomplished by hardening the cargo bed or a portion thereof with a box consisting of rolled steel plate. Double layering of steel plate may be required, based on the type of steel available.
The key factors in gun truck planning include armor, or the capability of sustaining a hit; weight; speed; maneuverability; and armament. The trade-off between armor and weight is critical. Not enough armor can prove deadly. Too much armor is counterproductive, in that a heavily-hardened vehicle may be too heavy to keep up with the convoy it is charged with defending. The excess weight can also create maintenance problems due to a significant increase in wear of suspension, steering, and braking systems and increased down time. A “hangar queen” cannot be an effective gun truck. Still another factor is weight distribution. Hardening a vehicle changes its center of gravity, and a vehicle can easily be hardened to the point that it becomes unstable. Hardening a vehicle to the extent that it rolls over at the proverbial drop of a hat is not only counterproductive, but extremely dangerous.
Gun trucks are often equipped with inorganic weapons, obtained and fitted to unit vehicles by highly creative Soldiers. Before employing such weapons, ensure the capability to supply and maintain them. Also ensure that the weapon is appropriate for the platform on which you plan to mount it. Testing will prevent both embarrassment and loss of life. Locally fabricated equipment, such as turret shielding and machine gun pedestals, should be thoroughly tested before placed into service.
The MT-LB is a good base for the installation of rapid-shooting installations - marine basing! And also the Russian fire shaft - GSH-6-30 in the armored turret will counter the armored vehicles of all modifications. And also immediately mount on MTLB - the first Soviet anti-aircraft gun AK-230Yu will be replaced with turrets! Installation AK-306 - simplified version of the AK-630! The 30-mm AK-630 artillery installation, firing 5000 shots in a minute, still remains the main means of self-defense of the fleet! And also it is possible to immediately install on the platform for cheapness KAMAZ - Marine automated anti-aircraft missile complex "Palma", it is also suitable for placement on small water ships and boats.
The presence of such products mean that the shortage of armored vehicles is really gaining momentum, and the production and restoration of mass-produced vehicles is not keeping up with the losses. And there are no other options other than starting the production of "Shupanzers" in the Russian Federation.
It could be used to fire on UAV's and Kamikaze drones, or it may just be used as a cheap alternative to the Terminator. Those 25 mm artillery are effective in keeping AFU troops bottled-up in their trenches while Russian infantry attacks. It could support the advancing forces (attack aircraft) in the fight against drones and drones. Armor allows avoiding the damage of the environment of the personal composition and effectively fight air goals. Increase the mobility of attacking fighters.

The Tulamash 2M-3 is a Russian anti-aircraft gun created by the Tulamash Zavod based on the 84-KM AA gun. This gun was based upon the 84-KM which was designed in 1943-44. The specifications for a new weapon were first developed in 1945 and then modified in 1947. Trials started in 1949 and the gun was accepted into service in 1953 as 110-PM. Manufacturing in the USSR continued until 1984.

The guns were fed from 65-round belts and the early guns could also be fed by 7-round clips. The twin mount on which these guns were originally used was designated as 2M-3. At a later date, the mount was modified into 2M-3M version. In this later version, the automatics were converted to gas-operation and the firing rate was increased to 470 - 480 rounds per minute during trials. These guns were nominally rated as being air-cooled, but they were actually cooled with water from a special hose for at least 15 seconds during reloading.
In the summer of 1989 on the Black Sea, the AK-630M1-2 showed itself to be quite effective. The installation successfully shot down the "Phalanx" ATGM, a simulated PKR "Harpoon", flying about ten meters high, consuming about two hundred shells on one rocket. However, the installation did not go into mass production and remained in service with only one boat. To be honest, ships are not always in battle, and their armament is often redundant and is not used in battles - if attackers saturate them or install their complexes now, they will cover the sky and bases and infantry in battle on tracked platforms - now, it is necessary to mount them until they sit sad from old age at bases in reserve.
