JSC NPO Kurganpribor

JSC NPO Kurganpribor is a Russian enterprise producing: capsule bushings for artillery shots of the ground forces and the navy; fuses for tank shots, land and naval artillery, multiple launch rocket systems, anti-aircraft missile systems, guided and unguided aircraft missiles and aircraft bomb weapons. The use of modern scientific and technological achievements, progressive innovative design developments and technologies increases production efficiency and ensures the production of products that meet the requirements for quality and reliability.

In the regional and Russian market of fuses for rocket, cannon and mortar artillery, the Kurgan enterprise owns at least 60% of the total production volume. A stable position, as well as annual development, create attractive conditions for workers (as of January 1, 2019, the number of employees is more than 2,300 people). The word "pribor" means device, equipment, kit, supplies, gear, set (collection of objects for a particular purpose, such as a set of tools) tool, instrument, gadget, apparatus or cutlery.

Since 2013, the company has created a design bureau for the development of its own products. The design of the fuse will allow, with minimal modifications, to adapt the product to work with barrel and rocket artillery. At the stage of research work, on an initiative basis, our enterprise cooperates with a number of research teams from many regions of Russia. The basic principles of building a new type of attack unmanned aerial vehicle with a pulse detonation engine, with radically new principles for initiating a warhead based on explosives highly sensitive to microwave radiation, are being worked out. Similar principles of initiation are proposed to be used in the development of the next generation of fuses for cannon and rocket artillery.

Creating such a production from scratch is simply impossible. It is impossible to create something similar on the basis of existing enterprises in the industry. The unique fusion of a huge number of technologies allows the company to set and achieve new, completely unusual goals. So, in 2013-2014, preparations were made for production and the production of electronic equipment and a communication unit for the Vikhr anti-tank aircraft missile was carried out.

Kurganpribor faced a serious task of diversifying its business and developing the production of a civilian product. The ideas of many startups are constantly considered. The management of the enterprise is constantly engaged in increasing the range of products. In recent years, the production of more than 20 types of new products has been mastered. Among them are products for various types of weapons, in the production of which NPO Kurganpribor JSC is a co-executor of the State Defense Order.

To increase the pace of mastering new and manufacturing serial products, the plant is implementing a multi-year technical re-equipment program. New high-performance equipment, machine tools with numerical control are being purchased. The ongoing activities are aimed at improving the quality of products and reducing the timing of orders. Work is also underway to modernize production facilities and improve the social and living conditions of workers.

For 2019, 100% of the production areas of JSC NPO Kurganpribor were reconstructed and developed. Work is underway to save energy resources - insulation of building facades, replacement of glazing. 3 gas boilers, 2 canteens, a gym, an outpatient clinic and other social and cultural facilities have been built. Works are being carried out to improve the territory: — new parking spaces have been organized for the employees of the enterprise. – for the purpose of patriotic education of the younger generation, an open exhibition with presented samples of military equipment was organized on the territory of the enterprise.

Employees of the enterprise "Kurganpribor" were not subject to mobilization. This also applies to other defense enterprises of the country. The corresponding decree was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin. On 21 September 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the partial mobilization of citizens into the Russian Armed Forces.

As Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu explained, partial mobilization implies the conscription of a little more than 1% of the total number of those liable for military service, which is about 300 thousand people, to the active army. "First of all, warrant officers, midshipmen and retired officers will be called. In addition, conscripts with combat experience will take up arms. Among the persons entitled to a deferral are employees of enterprises of the military-industrial complex," said Shoigu.

The document, in particular, states: “to provide citizens of the Russian Federation working in organizations of the military-industrial complex with the right to deferment from conscription for military service for mobilization for the period of work in these organizations.” There are only two defense industry enterprises in the Kurgan region. These are Kurganmashzavod and Kurganpribor. Recall that partial mobilization in the country has been announced since September 21. Those liable for military service with combat experience and the corresponding military registration specialty will be called up.

By November 2022 Trans-Ural enterprise "Kurganpribor" increased production capacity to support the fighters of the special military operation. The volume of production of Kurganpribor increased by almost 70% - the enterprise fulfills the state defense order of the Russian Ministry of Defense. The plant has switched to an enhanced mode of operation: they work here both day and night, so that it would be easier for the Russian military to defend the Motherland. Work was also organized on weekends. Kurganpribor supplies cartridge cases, components for missiles, fuses, and mechanisms that activate ammunition to the front line. "The range of almost all types of ammunition has increased. To do this, the enterprise purchases modern high-performance equipment. Machine tools of the turning group, machines of the milling group, longitudinal turning machines, and so on," Vladimir Kovalenkov, Deputy General Director of the Kurganpribor enterprise, shared.

The staff of production and engineering departments has also grown. To support our army is the professional and moral duty of the factory workers. Many of them have relatives and friends on the fields of the Northern Military District now participating in hostilities. In addition to working in an enhanced mode, Kurganpribor employees support the fighters financially. Recently, the factory workers allocated different amounts from the salary - as much as they could. It turned out more than one and a half million rubles. The money will be used to buy equipment and equipment. Kurgan plant No. 603 for the production of ammunition was established in accordance with order No. 448 of 24.08.1941 of the People's Commissariat of Ammunition of the USSR. In November 1941, the equipment of the Kharkov artel "Production of scales" and 16 specialists arrived in Kurgan. The equipment was placed on the territory of two food warehouses, where a new plant was laid.

By special order of the People's Commissariat of the USSR, the Kurgan Mechanical Plant No. 603 was announced as an operating enterprise, which had a production program for the production of military products. During all the years of the war, Plant No. 603 successfully fulfilled defense orders, exceeding the design capacity of production, for which it was repeatedly awarded the challenge Red Banner of the USSR State Defense Committee. On the basis of order No. 04 of January 9, 1946, plant No. 603 became part of the People's Commissariat for Agricultural Engineering of the USSR and began to produce civilian products, but continued to successfully fulfill defense orders in subsequent years.

In 1973, the Kurganpribor production association was created from two Kurgan plants - a mechanical one (the former plant M 603) and an instrument-making one, which made it possible to sharply increase the volume of output and reduce the managerial staff. In 1976, the Kurganpribor association was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor for the achieved high production indicators, the development of the social sphere, and the title of the “Communist Labor Collective”.

In 2002, on the basis of FSUE "Kurganpribor", an open joint-stock company "Kurganpribor-A" (JSC "Kurganpribor-A") was created, a promising economic program was developed for the establishment and further development of the enterprise, while maintaining the defense profile of the range of manufactured products. As a result of its implementation, it was possible to maintain the mobilization capacities not only of Kurganpribor, but also of bankrupt enterprises in the cities of Samara, Nizhny Novgorod, Saransk and others. More than 1.5 thousand pieces of equipment, 7.5 pieces of equipment and a huge amount of technical documentation were transported from these factories to Kurgan. A significant part of the products produced at bankrupt enterprises currently continues to be manufactured at NPO Kurganpribor JSC.
